The guidance is intended for engineering and procurement teams preparing equipment frames, machine guards, enclosures and similar assemblies in which flat parts and structural members must fit together.
A mixed-component RFQ can be difficult to evaluate when the sheet drawing, tube model and assembly requirements describe different revisions or omit the operations required after cutting. Tube requirements need a different set of inputs. The RFQ should identify whether each member is round, square or rectangular; its outside dimensions, wall thickness, material grade and finished length; and the location of holes, slots, notches or angled ends.
